Why do people all over the world feel the need to construct personal web pages? Why did I do it? Who knows? What do most people have to say? Why this urge to become public personas?

Do most people have a desire to become known to the world? To have intimate experiences revealed to complete strangers? But this doesn't really happen all that often does it? Many times, somebody will put up a web page, and get not all that many hits. But the point is, there it is, the web page, in black and white in bits and bytes. Perhaps it is a way to say hello to friends. Maybe the joy of actually making something. I guess I can't really relate to that. I've never really been one to make stuff.

Admittedly, some people do have passions that they want to share with other people. Fair enough. But what of those people who say they want a web page. But what do you want to put on it? They scratch their heads in confusion. You need to put something on it? Eh? What for? Isn't it cool enough just to have one? Perhaps this desire to have web pages, is connected with a desire for immortality? Fame? Maybe people want to reach out to people similar to themselves? Whatever the reason, the internet proliferates with hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of personal web pages, many of which have no better purpose than to take up server space and do a bit of advertising for the company which sponsers them. And you are currently visitng one of them. You might as well ask the meaning of life. I am in fact doing just that. What is the meaning of the life of a personal web page? Enjoy your stay.

By the way, my reason for creating a web page? Because my girlfriend wanted to make a link on her page to me.
