The nurses have now retracted their mass resignation threat. Individual nurses are still encouraged to resign on their own. But Debra McPherson will not be handing in all 5000 resignations. The excuse? The fact that the government made it illegal. Correct me if I'm wrong......but that never stopped them before. How many times have the nurses staged wildcat illegal walkouts in the last few months? What's the penalty for staging illegal walkouts anyways? Jail time? Fine? Doesn't seem as if they incur any penalty at all, really. What's the point in having a law if you don't enforce it? If they want to walk out or resign, I think they should face the consequences. They knowingly did it.

What's the real excuse? Well the fact that they never intended to carry through with it in the first place of course. Campbell was right on the money. Of course it probably didn't take a genius to figure out they were bluffing. So they lied. No big deal there. Everybody lied. But being exposed like this....if I were them, I would rather not have done this. It makes them look bad in my eyes certainly. They have conviction. But not a lot. And they made empty threats. It's like....they gave in so easily. Anyways.

Fun. Remember, I'm a leftist. As Rafe Mair would say, "anybody who's ever listened to this radio show knows that I'm not some kind of right wing zealot". Not one of you got that joke, I know. Anyways....I'm just kind of disgusted right now. Oh, one other thing. Debra McPherson criticized the labour minister Graham Bruce for smiling to her and shaking her hand when they met. She called him a weasel. I'm sorry but how can you criticize somebody for being polite?
