To A Troubled Heart

To a troubled heart
there is only time
To live again,
to grow,
to mend
To let heartaches rest
in their proper past
Their rightful place
to life's end
A memory of a time past,
that's all that's left
No present ties,
no further pleasures
Just broken memories
of yesterday
You cover your troubles
with drink,
laughter
and jokes
That screen you use
is now useless with me
If in yourself,
you could only believe
Your heart will not lead you
once more astray
To conquer alone
all problems in dismay
Time heals all wounds,
but only when love is set free
To follow a new hope,
a new dream
Intimate moments
without resistance
or persistance is easy to say
For love is
giving of yourself
in every way
The pressures
from passions yet unleased
To be cuddled,
tended,
and given
To dance
til no others are dancing
To sing
til there are no more songs
to be sung
What troubles
your mind does weave
To make love pass you by,
only you,
it does deceive.
