Night Love

When darkness sets upon me
I relish for the night
Those elusive creatures stirring
Are never seen in light
To hide until the shadows break
Oh to be a creature of the night
Silently pacing here and there
It would be a great delight
I could wander aimlessly
Or have a goal in mind
No matter, who would see me
Out there all the time
I want to be a great white owl
And sit perched upon my tree
Watching all the sights below
For something good to eat! 7/97
