My Hotwheel's Man



I wish I could remember the night we met,
But the room was so full of laughing guests,
I was both suprised and excited we collected the same,
All I had to remember was your internet name.

As talks continued we made strides in our chats,
You told me to watch for a Hotwheels cap,
What has fate got to do with our connecting in time,
Absolutely nothing, it was through an internet friend of mine.

"Hey MOM, my friend's dad collects those cars.",
Pams being one of my internet daughters,
"Sure I said, I would love to meet him."
So that night...I was introduced to Jim.

"Hi tattycat" "Hi Jim"...the usual first words,
The chatroom kids acting out with the usual verbs,
Bombs bursting, water splashing, just the common horseplay,
Each one laughing, with another display,

Jim and I, the adoptive MOM and DAD,
We laughted, and joked at the pranks so bad.
The whispered words we exchanged, no one could see,
Just getting to know who the other might be.

Hotwheels, Hotwheels, all the ones we had,
Hotwheels, Hotwheels, and the ones we wanted so bad,
Exchanging places to hunt them,
And prices costing arm and limb.

"Hey Jim, you should come check out here!"
"Oh its nothing he said, my family lives near."
Now to figure out how to meet that first day.
"Watch for my hotrod, I drive it all that way."

Parked and waiting a bit early that day,
When up drives this hotrod on a sunny day,
That couldn't be him, sooo handsome a man!
Are you tattycat? OH yes I am!

So breakfast it was, blackberry pancakes so famed,
Both shy to the point of forgetting real names,
Minds working overtime of hotwheels and such,
All we knew was we wanted this day to last so much.

How time flies when you're having fun,
Jim's made several of these "hotwheel runs",
The pinks, purple passions and all the LE's,
But the most valuable is Jim and me.

What began as a love of hotwheel cars,
Has blossomed into something much more precious, by far,
A love of hotwheels and to each other's heart,
Solid gold, together, never to part.
