During my stay in Denmark I befriended two Belgians: Jan and Wenzel.
This provided me with the opportunity to go back to Belgium with them in October'96. Great people, and the small country was charming. I first visited Louven, a small university town with an incredible city hall. Then I was off to Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels.
: Literally meaning, "throwing hands", (based on a myth I no longer remember) Antwerp is one of the key harbours in Europe. It also has a stunning downtown core, as seen by this photo. Belgium is predominantly Catholic so the cathedrals are magnificient. It was also in Antwerp that I visited the home of the painter, Peter Paul Ruebens.
