If Job were wise, would he say meaningless things like he does?
Would he be full of hot air like he is?
Job, your ideas even discourage people
from being holy and devoted to God!
It is your sin that is making you say the things you are saying!
You are speaking the words of a sinner.
Your own mouth condemns you, not mine!
Why do you think you know so much more than everyone else?
Are you older and wiser than everyone else?
Does God share special wisdom with you and you only?
What do you know that we don't?
The wise men of our age are all on our side!
Why don't you accept God's words of comfort?
I spoke them to you gently...
Why are you so angry with God?
Why do you talk to him the way you do?
Man can't be holy before God.
None is righteous before Him.
Listen to me and I will tell you what God has revealed to me!
It is in agreement with the wise men of today and yesterday!
Wicked men will suffer all their lives.
All his life he will be
terrified,
in despair,
marked for death -
wandering about knowing he will die.
Distress and anguish overwhelm him
because he remains angry with and defiant against God.
He is fat from his days of sinful pleasure.
He will have no home of his own.
He loses his wealth and his land.
Surely he will die.
He should not be encouraged by false hope.
He will be paid in full for his evil.
Those who love bribes, and make trouble,
Those who do evil and plan lies...
Fire will consume their tents.
Next Chapter - Job says he's heard all this before...
