Yevgeny Yevtushenko - Poet during the more liberated 1960's, after Stalin had died, and his totalitarian regime was thinning in power. Censorship was lessened, and poets and writers alike flourished as never before. The Soviet government did not remain relaxed however, and the bitterness of disillusionment rose up like bile as the years progressed. A Few Poems can be found here. Also a poem entitled Babi Yar , about a place where many, many Jews were murdered by Nazi's and the government had refused to raise a monument to them.
