In Search of a Friend
At dawn with the night my shadow walked...
The soil was damp still with the fog that kissed her
Then came the wind and him she carried
The sun and the bay still clung to each other
Then came evening and him she buried
At night with the Almighty earnestly I talked...

Do give it to me, the dawn as a gift
That I may once again see the sun rise from the east
Then beneath the soil her I will bury
That I may once again feel with my skin the gentle mist
Then beneath the soil him I will bury
Do give it to me that my spirits will do lift!

With the dawn my shadow finally walked!
When the wind in his power was the strongest
That the foehn desiccated and never tarried
When the dark in his glory was the strongest
That the sun lost its resplendence and utterly hid
With the dawn my shadow finally walked.  At night...
