October Awards Chair Message

As we close our first quarter of this fiscal year, let us reflect on our achievements(successful or not) and initiate procedures to improve and/or maintain our goals. Let us also remember that on November 11, 1997 we will be honoring our service members(past and present) who have, and are presently making tremendous sacrifices to ensure our freedom from tirany and oppression. Also keep their loved ones in our hearts for they have made great sacrifices as well.

Our service women have been honored with a memorial in Washington, DC. Many will have attended the October 1997 dedication.

Congratulations to all the districts which were honored at the Greenville Convention. It is evident that each and every district is well on their way to a great year from the achievements that have been made and are being planned by each which were mentioned at the convention.

The Wilmington Local Office looks forward to a great year. Our IAPES ships sail in full and the forecast is for favorable winds in the prevailing tides of change.

In closing, do not forget to nominate our co-workers for upcoming awards categories for which they are most deserving. Some of the deadlines for state awards have passed and district deadlines are approaching at a rapid pace. Please get the nominations into this awards chairperson well before the deadline. I anticipate a record number of recipients which will be another area of accomplishments for this region in our quest for region of the year.
