Katherine Bethea and Dorothy Moody participated in Walk America for the March of Dimes on September 26, 1998. Katherine and Dorothy walked 3 1/2 miles. The ESC office raised money by paying to dress down and by purchasing tickets for a flower raffle. Overall, the March of Dimes raised $20,000.
In our office, this fall, IAPES plans to adopt a family for Christmas. Also, we will have a 50/50 money pot drawing at our mini institute to raise money.
Congratulations to Sterling McNair, ESC Counselor, who has been appointed by Lumberton Mayor Raymond Pennington to serve on the City of Lumberton Personnel Board. Also, Sterling became the Chairman for SEANC District 24 (Robeson, Bladen, and Columbus Counties) on October 1.

The following article appeared in our local newspaper, The Robesonian:
We, the staff and clients of Southeastern Industrial Center would like to publicly thank Bob and Kim Glass of Denny's for providing not only the food and refreshments for our annual 4th of July picnic, but Mr. Glass personally grilled the most delicious, mouth-watering burgers. Mr. Glass said he couldn't understand why more people wouldn't get involved in such a worthwhile cause. Also helping out to serve the clients were Geraldine Greene and Dorothy Moody from JobLink. SEIC can always depend on these two ladies to lend a helping hand. Elizabeth Odum of Southeastern Regional Medical Center and the Parents Support Group pitched in and helped make it a wonderful day for our clients. Thanks again for your generousity.
