Haiku -Autumn

Wind rustles the leaves
carrying quiet voices,
which startle the squirrels.

1982

Leaves crunch underfoot
arms outstretched in victory
king of the hill falls.

1/22/01

A final embrace
wraps gently in golden hues
ushering evening.

12/27/99

 Rising from the pile
dry leaves entangled in hair…
diving in again.

1/23/01

Vine heavy with fruit
golden orange, streaked with green
waiting fall harvest.

1/21/01

Wind blown golden curls
arms stretched around pumpkin
glowing autumn sun.

 1/21/01

Tiny hands pulling
wagon laden with pumpkins
kissed in autumn hues.

1/21/01

Carving the pumpkin
unthinkable to small child
brushes tipped in paint.

1/21/01

Painted pumpkin sits
along with jack-o-lanterns…
rotting on the porch.

1/21/01

 November morning
pumpkins smashed in the garden
seeds scattering.
1/21/01

Thanksgiving dinner
astounded children blushing…
thimble full of wine.

1/24/01

Silently snow falls
blanketing the garden bed
dreams waiting in darkness.

1/21/01

Wing tattered luna
life ebbs under the porch light
whispers from the past.
