Imam Sayid Murtada Ghazvini, was born in 1931 in the holiest city of the Muslim nation called Karbala, which hosts the shrine Of Imam` Hussain (P.B.U.H). His family has a long-standing history in the making of the culture and the religious infrastructure of modern Iraq. The sayid studied the Islamic thoughts at the bands of prominent scholars In Karbala and reached the highest level of Islamic knowledge and jurisprudence (Ejtihad). Since early 1950's he started to teach at several seminarian and universities in Iraq, Kuwait and Iran. Beside his academic career Assayid Alghazvini is a well-known scholar (Aliem) and speaker in Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Gulf area, Syria, Lebanon, Europe and North America. In the mid 1950's; he a long with a group of Ulama’ established -the first modern and full time- Islamic School in Karbala. They call it "Imam Al-Sadiq School", which attracted the enlightened and motivated students and produced the best quality of teaching and discipline within the private schools of Iraq. In the mid 1960's, he established and directed al-Kitab wal Etra Institution for advanced religious studies in Karbala, which had the task of developing and training the speakers and the Ulama’ and dispatch them to all part of Iraq. In the mid 70's, sayid had to live in exile because of the political circumstances in Iraq and continued his academic and educational duties. The sayid with his friends established Al-Rasoul Al-Akram College in Kuwait City. In 1986, he immigrated to the United States to serve the Islamic community in this country. The dream of the sayid isto establish an Islamic University to project the Islamic sciences along side with the Islamic Values and norms to the American society. Sayid came to the United States with big goals on his mind. His goals were to enrich the Muslims living in this country with Islamic lectures, so they `wouldn't be lost in the American society. Also, he wanted the Americans to recognize the Muslims as great thinkers, peaceful people, respectful to every race and culture and obedient creatures of Allah.
