Please, no duplicating, copying, or distribution without my consent. -------------------------------------------------------------- What’s the use of running For an officer, a position When it’s a popularity contest And everyone viewing with suspicion People vote only for friends Of the people they do know But what if you’re not popular Someone else they rather go It seems so much a let down When you don’t succeed And even though I know it I just wish, a chance to lead They claim it isn’t true Popularity not the key But I do know the truth ‘Tis real, actuality So when I sit there waiting For the name to be said I shake my head and sigh once more The results I somewhat dread Never once have I made it So why do I still try? ‘Cause there’s still a chance Small, but there, that’s why
