Please, no duplicating, copying, or distribution without my consent. -------------------------------------------------------------- The whispers, the sounds They things they say Behind my back The things I don’t know They giggle and snicker They gossip and titter And inside it pierces my heart Like so many arrows And I never can heal Because the arrows keep coming A continuous rain Barraging, plaguing Each sly smile Each crafty whisper I can hear behind closed doors I still know from behind My eyes are in front But I see behind me My ears are to the side But I hear all around I hear the bad things See the laughing Feel the pain As they gossip to their friends So little words So little said And yet to me There’s no need to hear more I know more than it seems And, unfortunately, I understand Understand that I don’t fit in That the gossip is always about me Annoying, a braggart And everything I do, there’s someone Who can create an untrue story To stir the gossip pool
