Since the last decade the Government of Indonesia has been very active in developing and improving the intellectual property system in the country. The establishment of a presidential commission on IPR in 1986, the amendment of Copyright Act in 1987, the passage of the first Patent Act in 1989, the amendment of Trade Mark Act in 1992, and the signing of the General Agreements on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in 1994 have born witness to such efforts.
As the consequence of being a signatory member of GATT which includes the Agreement on Trade Related Aspect of Intellectual Property including Trade in Counterfeit Goods (TRIPS Agreement), in 1997, Indonesia has also made a number of remarkable efforts in order to make its national laws in full compliance with the TRIPS Agreement.
This Homepage is designed as an effort to disseminate information about intellectual property system in Indonesia. It contains various materials such as acts and regulations in the field of IPR, IP-related organisations and a bibliography of books, papers and articles on IPR.
This Homepage is very simple. Nevertheless, I hope that it is useful for those interested in IPR in Indonesia.
Thank you for visiting this site.
