The good: Judge #3 wanted to say that, “I liked the fun that the author had. :) It's a creative future, but one that seems real enough for you to believe in it. The characters also acted like themselves. Oh, well. Nice story.”
The bad: Judge #3 would also like to say, “Hey, don't we get
to find
out who he chooses?” I hear that Judge#3 is going to be at your
home
at noon tomorrow. They are going to tie you to a chair until
you tell
them who he chooses. The summary: ) This story occurs before the Shadows of the Future
storyline. The love triangle between Roberto aka Sunspot, Dani
aka "Are you willing
to tell her she needs to take a codename? Thought not.", and
Amara
aka Magma is heating up. See what happens when Roberto has to
choose
between these two lovely, intelligent ladies.
The good: Judge #1 wanted to say that it was “an interesting
tale
overall.” Judge #2 added that “It's a very interesting concept
and
well done for the most part. This is one writer's nice, imaginative
version of the relationship, which carries on without any
melodramatic villain-attacks. This helps make the story more
realistic, and the reader can relate to it.”
The bad: Judge #1 is apparently not into love, so they said,
“I found
it a bit confusing at times and a bit too "mushy" for my taste.”
“The dialogue is a little stilted, and the use of present tense
is
jarring. It would have been better if present tense was used
only for
the flashbacks of the two as children,” Judge #2 added.
Judge #3, on the other hand, wanted to say that “While reading
this
story I had the feeling I was watching a documentary or an
educational short that tells you how to ride your bike safely.
Anyway, the story's kinda... I dunno... picturesque. There's
not much
excitement. We go through their lives, and there's no real conflict
or suspense.”
The Summary: This summary was written into Judge’s #2 response,
“A
sort of What Happened/What If, this story explores James' and
Theresa's relationship, following the two all the way until
death.”
The bad: Bwhahahaha!!! You only got 13 out of 15 on your
spelling/grammar! My thought on how to solve this, a beta-reader
with
a degree in English. When you find them please send their e-mail
address to me!
The Summary: “Valentine's Day, like any other X-Holiday, is rife
with angst and ruined plans.” Gee! Thanks Judge #2 for starting me
out on this short summary! Roberto is no exception to this age-old
torture device that Hallmark and a PMSing woman made.

Valentine's Night
by Samy Merchi
Category: Romance
Story’s total rating: 82
The good: Judge #2 would like to say that, “This version follows
that pattern but manages to allow a happy ending without it
seeming
forced. Samy Merchi is a master at capturing tentative, fluttering
love between two people who aren't quite sure about it, and
his
characterization is spot-on. Berto's still a player, and has
that
pride and that temper, but he's got a heart, too.” Did I forget
to
mention that this story won best romance???
