June 1530
Melchior Hoffmann arrived here and began baptizing people by the hundreds, a mere two months after his own baptism in Strasbourg. He was soon forced to flee the city. He left Jan Volkerts Tripmaker in charge of the new Anabaptist congregation, and headed for Strasbourg.

11 December 1530
Sikke Freerks, a tailor, was baptized by Jan Volkerts Tripmaker. A few months later Freerks was executed in Leeuwarden.
