25 January 1535
Four Anabaptists - Willem Glasmaker, Johan Lubelei, Herman Schroer & Johan van Winssem - were arrested and accused of allowing themselves to be baptized in the home of the former burgomaster on the Waterstraat. All four were close associates of the revolutionary Anabaptists who were under seige at nearby Munster, Germany.

6 February 1535
The four Anabaptists arrested in January (Glasmaker, Lubelei, Schroer & van Winssem) were taken to the central market place, known as the Brink, and put to death by the sword.

17 April 1535
Fenneke van Geelen, an Anabaptist, was tied up in a sack, thrown into the river and drowned to death.
