It's not to often one can find a verse in the Bible that concludes with an exclamation point. Webster's dictionary defines an exclamation point as: a mark used to indicate a strong feeling. The psalmist was absolutely elated as he dwelt upon the thought of God's immeasurable love. Filled with the Holy Spirit and with overwhelming feelings he desired to convey this same intensity to us as he gave praise to the Lord. We sometimes feel overwhelmed with too much going on in our own busy lives and often neglect "the little things" in life that matter most, such as listening to how our spouse's day went, or hearing our little child tell us of the penny he found on the sidewalk while on the way to school in the morning. However,
it is indeed a sobering thought in knowing that the almighty, ominiscient, sovereign God who created the heavens, the earth, and all that encompasses it, takes the time to listen to each and every one of our individual prayers, all the while displaying His wonderful love for each of us on a daily basis. He truly is a good God wouldn't you say? Praise be to Him!

This perhaps isn't the most beautiful or most eloquent verse one can choose from the Bible. But this verse probably has the most weight behind it. It boldly, clearly, and adamantly declares the truth about Jesus Christ -- as the Son of God.
Here John establishes a precedent before proceeding any further in his eye witness account of Jesus Christ. He ensures the reader that he testifies on behalf of his own reputation and perhaps even his own life that Jesus is truly the Son of God.
How often do we boldly declare this truth to others? Do we "testify" unto others that Christ is the Son of God? Do we boldly declare that Jesus is the promised Messiah? As born-again believers in Christ we must all testify on behalf of Christ that He is the Son of God because surely we have all witnessed the saving grace that has come upon our lives, changing and transforming us all forever. Perhaps we all need to begin standing up and testifying "that this is the Son of God."

"Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!" (Psalm 66:20)
"I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God." (John 1:34)
