1. Preparation
You will need your processed film (leave in negative sheet), photo paper, and a sheet of glass (provided).
2. Set Enlarger
Roll the enlarger to a height of about 19-20 (check ruler on side). Make sure the lens is "stopped down" by 3. (3 steps down from setting for most light.) This may not be exactly right depending on whether or not you have a defective enlarger. If you are experiencing what you consider to be an undue amount of difficulty, try another enlarger.
3. Find MTMB
You will need to find the Minimum Time for Maximum Black. This means the least amount of time it takes to completely expose your paper. Make a test strip, by exposing a strip of paper gradually by 2 sec. (Cover up all but a little, expose 2 sec. Then uncover a little more and expose 2 more sec. up to about 10-12 sec.) This will tell you approx. how long it takes to completely expose the paper (MTMB).
4. Expose Paper
Set down paper (large enough for negatives) then place the entire negative sheet on top, making sure all negatives have paper under them. Then put the glass over it all to press negatives flat. Expose paper at MTMB time.
