In nature. 2. In spirit. 3. In unity. 4. In power. 5. In love.(and any other characteristic of divine beings) D. The Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, and God the Father are all mentioned throughout the scriptures. 1. Note: Genesis 1:26.(Also Genesis 1:1) 2. Be aware: Matthew 28:19. 3. These two passages should settle the matter in the honest mind. II. Body. A. Observe II Corinthians 13:14. 1. Grace: unmerited favor. a. God extended: Jesus carried out(willingly). b. Holy Spirit revealed it. 2. Love: Affection. a. God recognized by "this is my beloved son." b. Loved mankind: loved His Son(sacrificed). 3. Communion: Sharing of believers. a. Possible because of God's plan, Holy Spirit revealing, and Jesus executing. B. Observe: I Peter 1:2. 1. Foreknowledge: to know the future. a. Jehovah knew the coming events(and controlled). b. Holy Spirit revealed the future. c. Jesus completed the plan. 2. Sanctification: to set apart. a. All had a part of man's salvation. b. Believers obeyed and became saints. 3. Obedience: To submit to God's will. a. Jesus willingly died. b. His blood activated salvation. C. Observe Jude 20-21. 1. Praying in the Holy Spirit. a. By His directions through the word. b. The Spirit helps: Romans 8:26. 2. Love of God. a. Keep yourselves in this relationship. b. Can one fully comprehend? 3. Mercy of Jesus Christ. a. Brings eternal life. b. Was willing to come to earth--suffer--and die! D. Matthew 3:16-17. 1. Can anyone miss this? 2. If you can count to three... 3. Note: I John 5:7-9. III. Conclusion. A. Peter knew there were three. B. John the Baptist knew it(one on earth, one in the air, and one in Heaven)(a kindergartner can know that). C. The New Testament writers knew it. D. But...some religious teachers do not know it!-jy
