Thou Still Glows

Oh bright and majestic sun, How is it that thou still glows?
Your burning blaze you must bare alone,
Unlike the moon who shares her night with a million souls.

Thou dare not call even the clouds your friend,
For they as many block your shine and become your foes,
And as for night herself, with each passing day her attacks you must defend.

So empty, so cold seems this voided life you lead,
But perhaps the absence of love is not enough to end your will,
For your unconquering hope of true love enables you to proceed.

For as the wheels of Apollo's chariot churn and drag thee across the skies,
I now see the faith that thou bravely carries along,
And hope you find a love before your helpless hope dies.
