A Clouded World

Loneliness so clouds the world
With such a dark mirky haze
For it blinds the heart
From wondrous joys of wondrous days.

Autumn leaves, winter snows, spring blooms
All wasted in one's despair
For lost lambs of love gaze
Upon these with a heavy heart to bare.

No simple pleasures are taken
With coming of morning's charm
For what peace can be found
To wake with no lover in thy arms.

Nor in evening with the presence
Of the night's shining stars
No, nothing can break the shadows
Behind this jailor's bars.

And now can Loneliness
Be seen for its blurring deed
For only in a clouded world
Can the dark Loneliness succeed.
