Gerardo is pedro's brother. their family disintegrated when his mother abandoned them, taking two other brothers with her. at this time gerardo was a year old.

 Their father was an alcoholic, and did not care for the boys. Gerardo and his brother took to the streets, where they would fight and ask for food or money from the people. They were living in the streets, and sleeping in an abandoned house. A social worker took them to an orphanage close to where they were living. They would run away to see their friends. The boys were drinking and smoking, and the former orphanage was unable to help them correct these habits. Pedro was brought to us first on a trial basis, and when he was doing well, gerardo joined him.

 The two boys are happy to be together once again, and are doing well together, and as individuals.
