Mike's Current prayer Requests


-I preach a lot (2-3 times a week, 42 weeks a year) to a lot of lost people (hundreds). I need the Holy Spirit's filling and power.
-I have many opportunities this year to minister to my 150+ co-workers. Pray God will lead me in this, particularly in encouraging them in Christian growth that effects their homes and ministries.
-I teach Bible Survey in our high school. It is a required class and many of our non-Christian students are not excited (!) about the course. I always need God's help.
-I have the opportunity to mentor a lot of Christian students who are asking questions, rebelling against the status quo and making big choices.
-Many of our lost students really dislike Christianity, God and, as a result, are pretty miserable at a Christian school. Yet we know the Lord brought them to us, so pray God will save them.
-Some of our lost students have been involved in Wicca, homosexuality, spiritualism and the occult. Pray for the annointing of God on our entire staff as we face spiritual battle and seek to be servants of Christ and discerning counselors.
-Pray that God will bring more students to OBI out of His plan to save them and set them free. We also pray that God will send us strong Christian students as well.
-We always need new staff; particularly in maintenance and teaching areas. Right now we are needing foreign language teachers, especially french and spanish.
-A continual blessing on my wife and our marriage. (21 years!)This is a seson of renewal and blessing for us.
-My family needs spiritual protection, particularly my children who are at a very impressionable time in life and are often influenced by those who do not know God.
-Some of our staff kids need Christ in their lives.
-Pray for the students who play key roles in our campus ministry: BSU SmallGroup leaders. -We always need God's provision for health and finances. God has done many good things here and I am boldly praying for more.
-We are putting a special emphasis on world missions this year. Pray for the Tom Jenkin Fellowship as we share the vision of unreached peoples with our students. Also pray for the Salt and Light group, a ministry dedicated to practical ways of reaching out to campus and community.
-God has answered prayers about my writing! I now have a weekly newspaper column in our community newspaper. It focuses on marriage and parenting from a Christian perspective. Pray God will use it and open doors for our church to minister through it. I am also trying to write a novel.
-That God will be most glorified in me because I am most satisfied in Him.
-Honesty and Integrity; true compassion, patience and love for God and people.
-I have entered into an accountability relationship in order to keep myself in pursuit of God and not the many lesser loves that appeal to me. Pray for my "Father confessor." -I want to see real revival sometime in my life. I glimpsed it four years ago and my soul yearns to see the Lord come down in glory on his people.
