I believe that even though Welschoff is not in good condition, it is still an interesting place to visit. The road leading to the entrance is very curious. The barbed wire is mounted on top of a series of concrete steps.

Beyond the entrance is Bloc 1, which serves as the entrance (now bricked up). About 250 metres beyond the entrance (watch out for the cows) is Bloc 3 with a curious form of camouflague (similar to that used at Teting). These are actually strips of concrete protruding from the wall of the bloc, broken off in several places, but nevertheless very interesting to see. From the top of Bloc 2, Martin pointed out the positions of the German artillery during the Saare Offensive.
Our next stop was the Ouvrage du Haut Poirier. During the previous year, I visited Blocs 1, 2, and 3 (Link) and took these photos.

Note the Fossé is filled in with debris and there are 4 cloches, making it a very unique bloc.
We returned to H-P to see Bloc 4, a combination entry and égout visitable (drainage tunnel large enough to walk through). It is identical to the entrée reduite at P.O. de Lembach.
