When I tried to write a love poem By Lord Julus aka Iulian Ionescu To love somebody so intense Her face among the wreaths to see, I’ll try to put it in my verse Could someone try to fetter me? Is anyone among the living Who would dare to chain my hands- His thoughts are probably deceiving His consciousness it kneels and bends. As I can feel the chains already, Not fettering around my wrists But my heart surrounding steady As is the church around the priests. Nor my legs are caught together Or my head into a mesh But my core is bolt forever And is beatin’ by the lash. For I sent thee all the flowers That arose over the Earth And I played on all the powers I was given at my birth. None was good enough to conquer Your heart or make it hear Now my paper is a drunker, Not of whisky but of tear. My pen quivers in my hand As it snows the words around All the words onto the trend Fall together on the ground. For you this poem I was writing When suddenly I understood And the paper I was parting As I knew it was no good. To love somebody so intense Her face among the wreaths to see, I tried to put it in my verse The words themselves they fettered me.
