A Vampire's Lament- part 4

by Steven J.D. Bean

Do you know what you ask
Offering yourself unto me?
I am not so hard as you believe.
What overwhelms you is not,
As you think,
A lack of soul.
Look again into these eyes.
What you see is an aged soul
Unknown to you in it's firey coldness.
More vacant- more emotional
Than your most vivid dream.
You long for pain you cannot comprehend.
You lust for pleasures that would bind you.
They are the same-
There is little difference
Between pleasure and pain-
(Or none.)
Resist.
There is no shelter here.
It is you who are lost, not I.
I know exactly what I am.
Think again
Before you wish to be unleashed
Into my world.
Into death.
Into life.
