Tulsidas died in AD 1623. It was Shravana and the third day of the dark fortnight.
Briefly, to that much there is no doubt amongst scholars and historians alike, but in what year did Rambola born? Is Rambola and Sant Tulsidas .. some writers refer to Tulasidas ... one and the same person? Is Tulsidas and Tulasidas, one and the same?
On August 10, 1997 millions of Hindus throughout the world, including Trinidad (West Indies) have planned to commemorate Tulsidas's 500th Birthday. Hindus in most countries have dedicated this year, 1997, to Tulsidas. Other scholars and researchers claim varying years.

Verification of the birthdate at the expence of loosing track of the great teachings of Goswami Sant Tulsidas, particularly in the Ramcharitmansa. is not recommended.
Days and dates do help to keep matters on track, but it is of far greater importance that due recognisance be paid to those who contributed, in no small measure to the peace and prosperity of this little world of ours.
