Life Style

Each person makes his/her own rules about life style.

There is no value in keeping to rules imposed by someone else if they go against one's own information at the time.

Within a lifetime, life style rules may change. For each person there will come a time when the value of certain rules becomes clear and at that time there will be little difficulty in adapting one's life style accordingly.

No life style rules can be considered absolute; so, life style rules may contradict one another or exceptions may be made in special circumstances. This is a question left to the wisdom of each individual.

Whatever you do, do it consciously and be aware of the consequences.

Some Piers life style rules are given as an example.

Personal integrity

"Your body is the temple of the holy spirit" (St Paul)

By preserving the integrity of the body one is helping one's progress towards transition. Mistreating the body causes undetected pain and injury as individual body cells or units shriek in protest at the way they are handled.

Integrity of others

Respect the integrity of others.
Avoid entering another's living space (physical space, beliefs, life style, personality elements) without explicit or implied invitation. In dialogue or dealings with a second person respect the integrity of any third person(s).

Integrity of animals

Respect the integrity of animals as different from, not inferior, to humans.
Support measures to ensure adequate living conditions for animals.
Avoid exhibitions in which animals are trained to play at being humans.
Avoid exhibitions in which humans are trained to play at being animals.

Environment

Be economical with the material universe.
Take only what you need and support all measures for re-use.
Strive for environment-friendly employment, transport, housing, household installations.
