Cornerstones of the Axioms

Believing and Knowing

To say "I believe this" is to imply an element of personal choice - "I have chosen this belief" - with a further implication that the contrary might be a possibility.

To say "I know this" is a statement of absolute certainty which does not allow the contrary. This often means "I have personal experience of this".

The Axioms can bring this absolute certainty!

The Axioms are built on four cornerstones. Know them if you can. If you can't know, take the step and believe.

  • Boundlessness
  • The CSF
  • Determinism
  • Higher reality

    Boundlessness

There are no bounds to what is possible.
Everything we can imagine can happen.

Thanks to the progress of science we know everything about the universe, right back to the first trillionth of a second after its creation. With powerful telescopes we can perceive the remotest stars.

Yet what we can see is limited by what we can see. In the model according to the Axioms there is an unending number of universes each with its own natural laws, and an unfathomable number of delta universes similar to the universe we know but with minor modifications in a cosmic attempt to resolve inconsistencies. The individual consciousness (according to the Axioms) can bridge this gap and enter a delta universe complete with memories and environment appropriate to the new universe.

This and other things are possible. Only imagine it.

Our great grandparents could have no ideas of the forces which are our daily servants and companions. Electricity, radio, magnetic storage, high speed computing, microwave cookery, laser technology. If these things could have been explained to them they would find it impossible to see how these forces could be so readily accessible. So is it that our great grandchildren will be casually playing with ideas that are unreachable to us now. Let us admit that we do not know what we do not know.

Astrology could work. Paranormal experiences could be explainable. The future could be predictable. If any of these occult "sciences" appears to be producing results that work, use it. Don't ask too many questions. Maybe there is an explanation but we can't see it right now.

Remember boundlessness when consumed by guilt at having not done what should have been done -
not supported a friend or parent who needed it,
    not righted a wrong,
    not been honest with oneself,
    not given one's best.
There will be, there is, a universe where this error is corrected.

Boundlessness means an end to guilt.

    The CSF

There is a force which protects us and helps us to reach our goals.

In the Axioms this is called the Cosmic Supporting Force (CSF).
Provided we try to live ethically and obey our own life style rules, this force will ensure that we are not subjected to calamities.
Provided our personal goals are not in conflict with the highest possible ethical goals, the CSF will open the way to attainment of these goals.
During difficult times the CSF will exact more from us, a stricter life style or some special observations. Once this homage has been paid, a new and possibly unexpected event will show us the way ahead.
The CSF operates on a "Just In Time" basis. It will come up with a solution exactly at the moment when it is needed.

Each person (and possibly other living beings) has an individual CSF. Even if we cannot talk to the person (a young child, someone unconscious or in coma, someone with whom we have no common language) we can still address his or her CSF. Let us never doubt that the CSF hears or understands.
In the event of a misunderstanding we can, by putting our case to the CSF of the opposite party, increase our hope of a fair hearing (provided our case is an ethical one).
If we are threatened we may avert danger by appealing to the CSF of our assailant (This hint is offered on a "user's risk" basis - it has worked for me but I can imagine there might be situations when flight is a more opportunistic solution!).

With the CSF beside me I fear no evil.
With the CSF beside me I have no fear of non-being.
With the CSF beside me I need not fear ultimate isolation from all the earthly things that bring meaning.
With the CSF beside me I forget all my fear of being ridiculed by those whose judgement I value most.

The CSF means an end to fear.

    Determinism

    The future is already determined.

We speed along in our automobiles, thinking that by doing so we will arrive faster at the place we were supposed to be.
In fact whether we arrive, and when, is not strictly within our control. All shall happen as it was intended to happen and no amount of worry and tension will change that.

Let us replace the model of the automobilist with that of the train driver. He or she has different goals. Not to reach the destination as fast as possible, but to arrive at the appointed time. Not to search for the cleverest and most efficient route, but to travel along a predetermined route. To accept everything as it is, and give all our energy and will to the best way to carry out the task that has already been assigned.

Determinism does not mean an end to exerting ourselves to achieve our goals.
Determinism does not mean an end to the exercise of will.
Rather it is a recognition that there is a correct path for us to follow. Fighting this will wear us out and not prevent the inevitable from occurring.

Because of determinism the outcome of a situation I see as uncertain is already known.
Because of determinism I must follow the path in the direction to which everything points, never doubting its ultimate rightness.
Because of determinism everything will arrange itself, perhaps not in the way I expected, perhaps better.
Because of determinism even an inevitable bad situation is part of the total order; it has meaning in a wider context and we will come to live with the new pattern of things.

Determinism means an end to worry.

    Higher reality

The everyday world conceals another, higher reality.

All of us have had at some time a glimpse of this higher reality. We have at that moment no doubt about the realness of the reality, any more than we doubt the reality of a dream.

The difference is whereas the evidence of a dream seems to contradict the evidence of everyday "reality", and vice versa, the evidence of higher reality is completely in tune with the world we are used to experience.

There are many means, some legal, of obtaining access to this higher reality. Mental disciplines such as meditation or other exercises, chemicals taken for medication or pleasure, the result of a positive response to an enormous challenge... In any of these situations the door to this other world is pushed slightly ajar after which we return to the "normal" world with our knowledge and vision enhanced.

This knowledge cannot but help change our lives:

The higher reality means an end to despair.

    Conclusion

By believing in boundlessness we can ban guilt from our lives.
By believing in the CSF we can ban fear from our lives.
By believing in determinism we can ban worry from our lives.
By believing in the higher reality we can ban despair from our lives.
