Aperspectivals Anonymous
In the works of Ken Wilber there are several references to "aperspectival madness",
a condition which progresses from the noble proposition that all of the multiple perspectives
are to be treated fairly and impartially, to the point of view that no standpoint is better than
another. As this position seems to be seriously addictive, a visit to Aperspectivals Anonymous
is proposed.
I suggest the following draft for a twelve-point plan:
- I admit that due to aperspectival madness I was no longer capable
of responsible decisions and my life became unmanageable
- I recognize that only the truth, as revealed in the works of Ken Wilber,
could offer me a return to sanity
- I realize the Basic Moral Intuition can be the cornerstone from
which I can take several logical steps to the rebuilding of life
- I accept that the Perennial Philosophy and the Great Chain of
Being are pointers to truths which are valid and sustainable and
have endured through the centuries and will continue to do so
- I recognize that by accepting that my deepest nature is one with
the All, I will be relieved from the burdens of time, of anxiety,
of worry, and from the chains of alienation and separate-self
existence
- I recognize my shortcomings in differentiating and dissociating
whilst failing to integrate, and admit also to committing several times
a pre-trans fallacy, both of the first and of the second type
- I am prepared to take the step of total commitment to an integral
life-view and to place my trust in Ken Wilber as guide to this worldspace
- I intend to make amends to all those I have physically assaulted,
financially or spiritually bankrupted, or made psychologically unstable as a result of my
aperspectival madness
- I have continually taken a personal inventory in terms of LoCs,
fulcrums and Vmemes and when I was wrong promptly admitted it
- I have been single-minded in my daily pursuit of a transpersonal
practice, in the true and certain knowledge that Spirit will
then reach down and bless my every word and deed
- As a result of these steps I have attained a peek experience
and thus inspired will be untiring in carrying this message to
other aperspectivals
- I intend to continue practising these principles in all my
dealings
