Why did Europeans have some immunitity to certain deadly diseases like smallpox? Why were there fewer diseases present in American peoples than in Europeans? What were the effects of disease on the popoulations of places struck with epidemic outbreaks?
Ramifications of disease for modern world where contact between people and regions of the world is almost instantaneous? Ebola as an example of a deadly virulent disease that could have effects as catastrophic for the world today as Black Death was during the Middle Ages.

Brainstorm alternative ways in which you can demonstrate the important ideas from Chapter 11 in Ponting.
Individual Assignment -
As an individual or group, choose one of the alternative strategies for demonstrating an understanding of Chapter 11 and complete the project. This will be used as the assessment for Chapter 11. The grade will be based on a score of 25 points, but projects which go beyond routine levels of performence may earn up to an additional 15 points of extra credit. The projects will be due Tuesday.
