Some of you may have seen the prayer request list and have a question or two about why it looks the way that it does or how I manage it. This section is for you!
Why don't I see the names of the people I am praying for?
I am a BIG fan of prayer; I've seen it work numerous times, both in my life and others. In order to ensure that as many people as possible will come to God to obtain His direction, strength and healing (as He desires), I offer anonymity to all! It's safe to say that God, the Creator of the Universe and Savior of all mankind, knows who is in need without me spelling it out for everyone else on this earth.
I sent a prayer request but I don't see it posted!
There are a few reasons why I might not post your prayer request. The most common would be:
- Your e-mail/request never got to me, the e-dog ate it, etc. If this happens, please send another message (with your return e-mail address) and I'll either post it or get back to you.
- It's possible that I have gone camping with my wife and children and didn't have access to a computer since you sent me the message. I'll post it as soon as I get back...
- I may have bundled your request with several other related requests. For example, one standing request I have on the list is 'Pastors - that God would bless His church through another inspired service.' If you ask that we pray for Pastor Jim's study time, I think it's important enough to pray for ALL teachers and will post the general version.
- I may (Lord willing) be swamped with prayer requests and cannot get to everyone. If this begins to happen, I'll start looking into an 'automatic posting' for prayer requests. I prefer the personal touch, however.
- And finally, I am not sure if I will be posting prayer requests for organizations, groups or churches. In the event that an organization, group or church is posted on the prayer list, this does not constitute, in any fashion, an endorsement of the organization, group or church by either myself or Geocities, the group kind enough to provide this space for free homepages. This is a prayer request list, not a means of solicitation.
Why don't you use a 'guestbook'- type thing for your prayer
request list?
While that would automatically update the prayer list, it would create more problems than it would solve. If this is truly what you require from a prayer list, you can check out one of the other prayer sites on the internet.
Hey, I don't agree with your philosophy of what you will and
won't post on your prayer requests!
Personally, I think that's great! And I would WHOLEHEARTEDLY support you creating your very own free homepage with prayer request lists. You can get FREE e-mail AND homepages from Geocities. Do you need some help getting started? Check out my links page and check out the links I have for starting a homepage. If you still need more help or you'd like me to add a link to your homepage, send me an e-mail message and we'll see if we can work something out.
And another thing, please continue to pray for the requests I have posted. It's a Christian service thing, not a personality thing.
What should I send a prayer request for?
The short answer is: EVERYTHING! God is interested in your life,
why shouldn't we want to share with Him about it? I ask you to
send me your e-mail address with each request for a few reasons:
God bless you all.
