Without You

by Libby Brunton (13)

I go to a movie,
I open up a book.
I turn on the TV,
Yet everywhere I look,
I see your face,
And cute little smile,
Spreading ear to ear,
You grin with such style.
That small nose
On that happy face,
Every single day
Just makes my heart race.
But in each vision,
Your eyes are closed.
Why is that?
Nobody knows.
Nobody, that is,
Except for me.
Do you hear me calling
My helpless plea?
Your eyes are closed
To the world outside you.
Don't you get it?
Aren't my words getting through?
I pretend not to notice,
When you hug my best friend.
Don't you see that I
Am more than willing to lend
A piece of my heart
To the man that I love.
Why won't you take it?
It's the only piece of
My heart left to give,
To anyone at all.
Please take my hand,
Don't let me fall,
Into a hole of devastation,
Where love used to lie.
I can't live without you,
Without you I'll die.
