I've seen the eyes of my generation
Torn by which they fear
Crawling through the maddened streets
bleeding
pleading
screaming
in anger
in hate
in despair
I watch them from my cell
And know that I did this to them
The one they refused to
believe
accept
understand
And I do not show them I care
I stare at them expressionless
Watch them drown in their guilt
I turn from them
as they had done to me so many times
To erase the voices from my tortured mind
The ones who refused to listen
And are now begging me to speak.
