Unwhole

by Lance Fanger (16)

blank spots and moments in my life
that shouldered trials, disappointment, and loss
paved way for a regretful past
a past littered with worries and woes
which now I must care
those things I’ve done
lie unexcused
like ignored trash
left sullenly
only to degrade
unnoticed sores
with blight blistered puss
that burns like shadowed fire
how can cleansing be done
of what is unseen
only acceptance
of invisible pain
can sooth the ache of a soul
that none other than self
can seek and make,
whole
