thought I could run away from myself
wanted to be like everyone else
in my own way, at my own hour
written by my own words
using my own powers
but words reminded me
of those fields of gold I used to walk on
it reminded me of the purple dreams
I used to float on
it took me back to the enchanted
castles of the unknown
just where my spirit came from
I thought it got locked up in the cage
called modern life
but souls are smarter than us
they don't make mistakes and cry
they live and show us how to fly
I thought I could run away from myself
and I only found myself once again
in the right place, for the first time
in the right life, called mine.
