You paved a dirt road into tarmac for us,
The first generation of the Liliths of poetry:
Who set the standards,
Who started the trend,
Who broke the mundane cycle,
Who shared their world.
You gave your life for poetry,
Literally:
Your throbbing heart is left with us,
As an example of dedication.
It shows us how,
To reach your standards,
To finish the trend,
To continue breaking the cycle,
To share our world with the world
So we can give our lives to poetry.
The next generation of the Liliths are home.
From your example,
We will follow you,
Follow you to the grave,
O martyr.
