Taming the Worst Fear

by Lindsay Hidy (14)

Taming the worst fear.
The coldness of a tear.
Someone living in the past,
Making our heartaches everlast.

Thickness of our hate.
Running to just having to wait.
Life moving like a river fast and rough.
Knowing we have to be tough.

Like the day before we dread.
Worry about what they said.
Shall we dare to dream of tomorrow?
Can we keep from drowning in our own sorrows?

It's not easy to keep standing,
When we fall it is a rough landing.
But remember in everything no one can take your heart,
Which you need to make it through it all without falling apart.
