Silent Cries for Help

by Dee Warnock (15)

I am here for you RJ
whatever is bothering you
I will try my best
to help you through

I know what you are feeling
I've been there before
scared and unsure
death seems to have a welcome door

Not knowing how to deal
this seems the best way
but I promise you it is not
for the cuts you make are there to stay

In the beginning
you have lots of space
then towards the end
you begin to leave a trace

At first there's only a few
not very deep
it hurts too bad
this a secret you shall keep

Soon it is an addiction
it is something you need
soon you have to see the blood
of this your energy feeds

The cuts are like a drug to you
on the inside the less you feel
the more you cut
on the outside to deal

But know when you cut
on the inside you still feel nothing
as you sit alone in the dark
you suddenly thought of something

You take the knife
the one you used so many times
as you lay it across your wrist
you see your past infront of your eyes

As you look down
you slowly close your eyes
not knowing any other way
no one saw your silent cries

RJ, I see me all over again
only it is you
please don't let it go this far
please don't think you have no one to run to

The damage you have done
can still mend
and always remember RJ
I am here for you and will forever be your friend
