Suddenly, softly, taking darknesses hand
guiding me through the black, black land.
From nowhere like a thief in the night
comes a soft thought of something right.
Soon, the black fades and my heart races
a quick reminder of great places.
Beautiful sounds on which I thrive
cut through me with the sharpness of knives.
The light fades as quickly as it came
I dance with the shadows and guard my demense.
Leaving me only memories and a bitter taste
and when the sun rises I exit with great haste.
