Seeds

by Rebecca Taylor (15)

Quietly
The grounds erupts
And slowly out comes
Some green
Softly

It pushes the dirt
Away from its eyes
They open
Determined
It shoots upward
And onward to
The sky
Gently
The velvet petals
Unfair to the world
Their beauty
Quietly
The blood begins to drain
The life fades from
The flower
Finally
There's nothing left
But seeds
