One Night

by Claire Gilg (15)

We get closer and I tell you you're beautiful
Thank you you say
I turn and glance away
Spinning and turning, music pounding our ears
Dancing and prancing, our worries they float away
Lights flashing and our hearts pounding
The night, drifting away
A space growing greater and greater between us
But in our hearts we're wishing to stay
And our heads, confused, pushing those thoughts for another day
Again you are near, we work our way together
Your eyes I cannot see, what they hold I wonder
My feelings, uncertain, but revealed by another
Such good times and such lovely memories
Together forever, but I could not stay
And with him you went, tied like a knot
No words spoken for ages it seemed
In the heat of the moment the past doesn't matter
Our lives were swept apart but once again we're together
It could have been the music
Or it could of been the light
It could of been the dancing
Or it could of been the night
Whatever the reason, whatever the cause
We found ourselves together and in my head you repeat
