My Friends

by Alex Pearson (14)

Oh how she thinks, that I don't like,
Her friendly gestures on a soft cool night,
But I do, more than she will ever know.

Though when my new friend came along,
She whispered the whispers of a soft, sweet song
I really hope our relationship will last long.

Now, I weep in the willows as I see my sad, old friend,
We don't laugh anymore like we used to,
Even when we are in the laughing mood.

New friend, oh new friend,
You're as nice as you can be,
Let us stay together for all eternity.

Oh dear old friend,
Please take this the best you can,
I like you alot, but just as a friend.

My new friend is sweet,
Sweeter than candy or a newly blossomed rose,
She is sweeter than sweet.

But yet dear old friend,
You are as sweet as they may get,
It is hard to choose between the both of you.

Yet I do not have to choose,
For I have made my final decision,
Please do not be sad.

I have made up my mind,
I will stay best friends with both of you,
But each in a different perspective.

Oh dear friends,
I hope you understand my decision,
As I lead my life like a torn feather blowing in the wind.
