I'm going dancing tonight
I'm going to shake my tight butt to D.J. Whoever
And be stared down by some jock undercover
wearing fashionably big pants
sitting still watching the Betty's dance
flexing his pecs when he gets the chance
barely hidden by his shirt that says Hilfiger on the chest
won't crack a smile because he didn't check that in the mirror before he
left
and headed for the club
a heaven of techno rhythms
and miscalculated come-ons
Drunks to the left of me
hoochies to the right
here I am
squished in the middle trying to catch the groove
trying to look cool
with my mojo working
and my matzie checked at the door
Just me, my dance
and my stamps on my hands
to let everyone know I'm under 21
just out trying to have some under 21 fun
I've got my token friends about
but I rode solo tonight
and will ride solo home
I notice the girls on the high stage
and try to imagine what their moms would say
if they saw what their daughters were wearing hear at the Rage
Blondes, both of them, toting their very best dress
the clothes, however, come a close second to their hair
and let's not mention the buy-me-a-drink and I'm yours dance
that dance, you know the one, the one that doesn't require the movement
of feet
So neat in it's simplicity
it's bait for the school that dance below
and if I wasn't coy
I'd be fishing a hook out of my mouth
but nope
I stand close to my belief
that the girl of my dreams
won't be busting a move to the beat
And I just dance.
