You cannot run
You cannot hide
I live in you
from inside

I live when you don't
I am the darkness,
within your soul
The ice that makes your heart
so cold

I live on wrongs
die off rights
This is the pain
you feel inside

I keep you awake
in the dark of the night
I control your thoughts
your fears
your mind

I am the nightmare
that tortures your every dream
The screams of terror
are your plead

You look for light
you cannot find
because darkness
has been trapped inside

You want to be seen clear
but I am cloudy
I storm inside
while buckets of rain
run down your face

I am the gray cloud
with no silver lining
No rainbow that comforts
you inside

You want the warmth of love,
but you force me to turn love cold
You want someone,
something
to hold

But there is no one
nothing
to grasp
except me
the right hand
of your
guilt
