I'm Still Here

by Lisa Gilbert (14)

I can paint a smile upon my face,
Even when I'm blue,
But one thing's for sure...
I still love you.

I had my chance,
It was small, but it was mine,
I took a leap of faith,
And ended up without you.

Now I cry,
The tears are falling from my eyes,
"Just be friends for now"
But how?

So I paint the smile on my face,
It covers the grief, the pain.
And now I know I needed you,
And still do...

I see you everyday,
I always look your way,
I smile, I laugh, and I will cry.
I can't let you know,
It's not your problem,
It's mine.

I love you, it's true,
I'm dying here without you.
So just to let you know,
I'm here, I won't ever let go.
