How Can I?

by Benjamin Andrus (17)

How, once I have had the pleasure
To be with thee in your beauty,
Can I lose the treasure
That you are, and you've given me.
Can I say that you are nothing
While, with me, you share your mind.
When I am with you I feel like a king,
And by your love I am bind
To thee above all people
That is where you sit
High atop the tallest steeple
As all men to your love must submit.
